SBX - One Stop for Sports Enthusiast

SBX - One Stop for Sports Enthusiast

Sports Box is a unit of Galaxy Entertainment Corporation limited which is India’s best known professionally managed entertainment conglomerate setup to provide customers with world class options for leisure and entertainment, which includes Restaurants & Bars, Gaming Zones and Food Courts. The company is headquartered in Mumbai. We currently have 25 Functional units across India which includes 4 Sports Box, 2 Restaurants, 12 Food Courts and 7 Gaming Zones.

SBX is designed and developed with a theme of  “Love and excitement for Sports & Music”. Its a place where you could roll-up your sleeves to unwind and de-stress after a hard day's work.

If you planning to have a corporate party then this is the place to be as they customize according to your convenience and budget. The place is huge and there is a lovely sit out area which faces the city lights and gives you an amazing feel. They also have :

Featuring giant screens & television sets
 Pool table
 Ambience of Music Bands and Sports
 Wide array of beverages
 Lavish food menu to choose from
 Live DJ performance
 Finger-licking food

And now my fav part "FOOD & Alcohol" :-) I started off with Magic Johnson Cocktail  and while going thru the menu found it amazing as each an every signature  drink and food is named after a sports person.

With their best you can call it their signature starters for both Veg and Non-Veg. Though they have a wide range of food menu their Tandoori Starters are the best.

We enjoyed the SBX Veg Tandoori Platter and for non-veggies it was JD Buffalo Wings and we enjoyed both. Platter was overall filling as I was done just with few bites from it on the other hand JD Buffalo Wings was cooked to perfection, succulent.

Jhinga Koliwada Mumbai Style
Jhinga Koliwada is another signature dish of the Chef,  its cooked Mumbai style more or less like bhajiya you can say. Goes prefect with your choice of alcohol or mocktails.

Hence after trying out their special tandoori dishes we moved on to Italian and continental dishes. Here is what is said to be people's choice " Chili Cheese Toast " and must say it is definitely light and went prefect with my Long Island Ice Tea.

And there was the savior for the tangdi people.. Chef spl. " Penne Tandoori Tango "

Penne Tandoori Tango
Followed with which we had the SBX fav " Nachos with Beans " What I found different was the beans used where white beans and not the usual Red beans which itself gave a different.

And finally we tasted the all time classic Margarita .. A simple and taste just like a home made pizza.

Gajar Ka Halwa
The sweet tooth couldn't resist the Gajar ka halwa and with which the night ended at a high note.

Its a cost effective place as it would cost Rs 1200 for 2

Soul Space Arena, 4th Floor, No 36/5, Marathalli Ring Road, Next To Akme Ballet.
Mahadevpura, Bangalore

My take on this place is .. It's an chilled out place where you can de-stress, chill out and just spend the evening with either your huge funny group or even alone in the sit out area. They also have Ladies night on Wednesdays with unlimited drinks till 10:00 PM. The Food is delicious and yes they are known for their north Indian tandoori khana.. A great place for office parties as they would also customize the menu for you as per your need.

Brewery Tour at Barleyz - By Burrp

Beer ?

Who doesn't love beer ?

"Oktoberfest" is celebrated this month by making special beer for all the beer lovers. It is a 16-day festival running from late September to the first weekend in October with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year

Beer is tastier than water :-) and that is what i believe in coz its the world's most widely consumed alcoholic beverage, and is the third-most popular drink overall, after water and tea.

The process of making beer is known as brewing. A dedicated building for the making of beer is called a brewery, though beer can be made in the home and has been for much of its history. A company that makes beer is called either a brewery or a brewing company. The purpose of brewing is to convert the starch source into a sugary liquid called wort and to convert the wort into the alcoholic beverage known as beer in a fermentation process effected by yeast.

Thanks to Burrp for inviting me over to celebrate Oktoberfest at Barleyz, one of the amazing brewery in Bangalore. We were introduced to the brew master, Mr Mallieswaran.

He took us through of their brewery system and the process of making beer at Barleyz. He is in this field for the last 25 years and just then found out that we both are from the same city :-) Barleyz have a two micro brewery which has a capacity of 500 lts and are placed on the roof top with adequate shelter. The first container is where the initial crushing take place and then it is transferred to the second container for mixing and filtration process. Once the second container finishes its job, the batch is again transferred to the first container where it undergoes the heating process. This entire process takes about 8 hours to complete. These completed batches are then sent to the final 1000 lts containers, located behind the bar for the end process. Two batches at the micro brewery will fill up one container. This is the process that makes sure that we get tasty beer. Here the final removal of yeast, fermentation, etc takes place. Barleyz have 10 1000 lts beer containers to make sure that all their customers never feel the short of alcohol on any given day (except dry days).

The fest is all about BEER and FOOD. So let me start by showing you beers :

Barleyz Special

My personal fav was Barleyz Special as it wasnt too strong and not that bitter to taste.

We had fun with all the beer tasting, good food and dance and not to forget the Burrp Special Quiz :-) Barleyz has always been my favorite place for a rooftop dine.

Such an amazing night it was at Barleyz, A big thank you  to Burrp for inviting us over and giving us an opportunity to know the techniques of my fav drink " BEER "

Oh before I leave here is the picture of me and other bloggers having fun at BARLEYZ :-)

Mexico On My Plate - Hard Rock Cafe #MexicanFiesta

HRC brings you the Mexican Fiesta from 1st September to 28th September.

With wide range of culture, taste and aromas of Mexico to tickle your palate.
We started our evening at HRC with these amazing Tequila Based Drinks which was truly a Mexican Experience. My poison of the night was the Fool's Gold and the Cactus Flower Shot - Its a must try.

Fool's Gold

Cactus Flower Shot

We had Chef Niranjan with us that evening to takes thru each and every dish and also making sure that it was served and tasted to perfection. With the wonderful start of the drinks we were served with few mouth-watering starters " Cheddar Cheese Samosette " and " Nachos Cantina

Cheddar Cheese Samosette
Nachos Cantina

The Nachos Cantina, Corn chips baked with cheese and topped with tomato salsa, Guacamole and sour cream. While all the other Nachos i have tasted in past few months this has been the best, reason - the chips were crispy till the last bite in the plate.

If you love seafood especially prawns then the " Orange Tequila Prawns "is a must try. Cooked to perfection, Prawns were juicy and you would fall in love with the sauce which is once again very Mexican tequila based.

Orange Tequila Prawns
As a vegetarian I am a big fan of beans and this was one of the few I totally loved. Bowled over with the presentation using the tacos and filled with veggies and crispy bits of cottage cheese.

Crusty Cottage Cheese Tacos

Then comes " Smoky Char Grilled Cottage Cheese Quesadilla " Not many on the table preferred this dish, but I would recommend to try it as it's gives a different taste to the normal Quesadilla's you might have tried.

" BBQ Cottage Cheese Toastada" thin tortilla's baked with cheese with bbq cottage cheese and veggies. Its Nothing like pizza that it looks like, as this has a completely different taste.

Veg version of Toastada
And before we dig into the bite of heaven we were filled with this heavy piece called " Bahama mama chicken tender Burrito " it was so heavy that we 2 people couldn't finish 1 piece of it, too filling.

And finally we had our bite to heaven "Tres leche" Sponge Cake Soaked with layers of milk - evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream. It is to die for and highly recommended.   " Sizzling Skillet Scorched " being a sweet tooth its so difficult to choose between the 2, but if you really wanna know then just have both. A piece of heaven they are.
